About the transaction
Founder of Holland Water Leo de Zeeuw explains: “After the legionella disaster in Bovenkarspel in 1999, building managers diligently searched for solutions, but it turned out that the Netherlands did not have effective means to combat legionella in water systems. More than 17 years ago, I founded Holland Water to do something about it. Strict regulations, high certification requirements and the stigma attached to legionella have not stopped us from solving structural legionella problems once and for all with – so far – over 700 customers in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Italy, Poland and the UAE. But we want to and can do more, which is why I started looking for reinforcements.”
“I have now found this reinforcement in the form of investment company OxGreenfield and an aggravated management team led by Rogier van den Brink. We look forward to taking a big step forward together and helping buildings around the world get rid of their legionella problems.”
CEO Rogier van den Brink adds: “Building owners prefer not to talk about legionella, which is why Holland Water has a relatively modest reputation. But that is undeserved. We offer the only full-fledged pesticide against legionella and our great team always builds smart, customer-oriented services around that. As a result, we help our customers get rid of a major headache. OxGreenfield has seen through the legionella stigma and also sees the huge potential of smarter water management. We are grateful for their trust, support and commitment.”
Pim de Joode, partner at OxGreenfield: “Holland Water is effectively contributing to safer drinking water and at the same time enabling us to use the ‘liquid gold’ in a more sustainable way. Knowing that safe and clean water is becoming an increasingly scarce commodity, and at a time when we are more than ever confronted with the fact that our public health is vulnerable, we are confidently investing in a company that provides clean, healthy and safe water with superior technological solutions in an environmentally conscious manner. Much remains to be done before smart and sustainable water management is an obvious choice, but we are confident that Leo, Rogier and their team will succeed. Where necessary, we will support them in this.”
